Day three

Sam was doing pretty well today. She was resting a lot (thanks to morphine and zofran), but when she was awake she was a bit more like herself. There aren't any real problems now. She's still in the ICU, just to make sure everything gets healed up sufficiently. I think they plan on getting her up to walk tomorrow. I've seen some other people in the ICU do it, and it looks really difficult for them. I can't even imagine the pain she is going through. She is quite the trooper, and is doing her best to get better. I don't know how she does it. After seeing her I would never want to go through open heart surgery, but here she's done it twice now. She is amazing.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Also thanks to those who have helped us out so far. It is appreciated.

So glad to hear she is doing well with no complications. She is definitely one tough cookie. I have had many phone calls and emails asking if y'all need anything, so please let me know if you do. We have people lined up to help.

I was so relieved to finally get to talk to you the other day, Cameron, and we are certainly remembering you guys in our prayers every day. I know Sami is a tough girl and hope that everything continues to go as it should. I, too, wish that we lived closer but maybe we can make a trip over that way sometime again.

Because of Sam I have a great testimony of fasting and prayer. We were little children when she was to have a heart surgery and our branch fasted and prayed and all was well. I am thankful to know her. I am so grateful she is doing well.
